Crown Preperation Improvement Through CEREC mentoring

In a previous post I discussed the benefit of using CEREC technology as a useful tool in deliberate practice. The above compilation of work completed by one associate illustrates the growth that can occur when a willing student is supported by a mentor. The top row were the first four preparations that this dentist performed.  Next, we began the process of deliberate practice. The bottom row represents the most recent four preperations from this dentist. The preps range from November to January 31st.

At a meeting this week the dentist expressed satisfaction with the process and greater confidence in his ability to manage smaller burs such as the KS1 bur from Brassler and modified WhiteStone burs cut to resemble the KS1. That confidence is evident by the more conservative  and smoother preps.
